About this event

Para Dance UK is proud to announce Summer Festival, an online inclusive dance competition open to Para Dance UK athletes*.

Summer Festival is a fun opportunity to get back onto the dance floor. It’s a non-qualifying, non-pointed and unofficial online competition where you, our athletes can film yourselves dancing at home and send your videos for the judges to mark.

Each entry will need to be a video of 90 seconds. Choose to enter one or all four events! We have open classes too, so if you haven't been classified yet, you can take part!

Athletes can enter/book online until 1st May. All the information and guidance you need to film your videos will be issued upon booking confirmation.

Videos of your competition entries will need to be submitted after 1st May and by 23:59 on 1st June.

In addition, there will be no cost recovery from Para Dance UK and athletes must make their own decisions relating to venues, risk assessments and Covid-19.  Hired venues will not have priority over home venues.
  10. Do not use any props in the Freestyle events.

  18. Differences in Freestyle and Slow Freestyle are the tempo/bpm and the style.   Freestyle- Dance routines allow the dancer to express themselves in a more casual or faster paced routine. Actions will be faster paced, vibrant and energetic. Dancers may interpret the lyrics or styling of music choice in obvious or subtle ways.  Slow Freestyle- Slow dance routines allow expression and extension and control of movement. Actions may have ballet or contemporary styling. Dancers are encouraged to demonstrate control, balance and co-ordination with an understanding of the music through their own interpretation.   Bpm info will be included in the guidance upon booking confirmation.
